After a rather tough play, Stanton's Larbi Malek got a free kick in the 15th minute. Khair ad-Din Mazzid recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kamel Medjani in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Noureddine Abbas saved Stanton from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Khair ad-Din Mazzid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Khair ad-Din Mazzid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noureddine Abbas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Kamel Medjani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute of the match Fodil Meskine shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Safy Harkouk showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Kamel Medjani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noureddine Abbas was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Belmadi Ighil hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Khair ad-Din Mazzid could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Noureddine Abbas made a huge save. Noureddine Abbas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Khair ad-Din Mazzid's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Stanton's Noureddine Abbas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khair ad-Din Mazzid in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goalkeeper Safy Harkouk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Redha Mekhloufi. Safy Harkouk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rabah Hamid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Safy Harkouk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Redha Mekhloufi in the 97th minute. Stanton's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
