Abdelaziz El-Ouafi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute, Mustapha Benhabiles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chennai Super Kings fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Abdelaziz El-Ouafi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthar Reda Madouni's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. If Boughera Benaouf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 34 minutes, Boughera Benaouf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chennai Super Kings's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boughera Benaouf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mustapha Benhabiles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelaziz El-Ouafi having to interfere. Boughera Benaouf might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdelaziz El-Ouafi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boughera Benaouf ran back to his position shaking his head. Boubekeur Haddou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rabah Bouteflika had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Mustapha Benhabiles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Dedham AFC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Lakhdar Madani hit a great ball. 49 minutes into the match, Dedham AFC's goalkeeper Abdelaziz El-Ouafi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mustapha Benhabiles. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anthar Reda Madouni made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Anthar Reda Madouni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Dedham AFC's zone, Anthar Reda Madouni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdelaziz El-Ouafi came out of the goal and Anthar Reda Madouni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boughera Benaouf struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Abdelaziz El-Ouafi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chennai Super Kings. The audience was convinced that Anthar Reda Madouni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abdelaziz El-Ouafi was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. If Lakhdar Amara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boubekeur Haddou struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. In the 83rd match minute, Chennai Super Kings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Smail Zaaboub to maneuver through the defense. Dedham AFC's Abdelaziz El-Ouafi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boughera Benaouf in the 86th minute of play. Boughera Benaouf struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Abdelaziz El-Ouafi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chennai Super Kings. When Rabah Bouteflika came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Chennai Super Kings fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rabah Bouteflika couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chennai Super Kings had played much better football throughout.
