If Nadir Bougherra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29thth minute of the game Mohamed Kheyari who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lake Los Angeles AFC's Medjadi Boudiaf was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Medjadi Boudiaf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nadir Bougherra in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mohamed Kheyari in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Medjadi Boudiaf saved Lake Los Angeles AFC from getting behind. 48 minutes into the match, Mohamed Kheyari had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Medjadi Boudiaf. Lake Los Angeles AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mohamed Kheyari was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mohamed Kheyari to strike the kick off in the second half. Meziane Nabil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Knodi Boulmerka's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. A collision led to Petersburg getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Abdel Hamid Kraouche hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Lake Los Angeles AFC defense, Mohamed Kheyari kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Medjadi Boudiaf. The Lake Los Angeles AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Medjadi Boudiaf should have stopped the shot. Mohamed Kheyari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Medjadi Boudiaf having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Knodi Boulmerka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lake Los Angeles AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Knodi Boulmerka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes, Tayeb Teissier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Petersburg and the Lake Los Angeles AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd minute, Tayeb Teissier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zīn ud-Dīn Benzine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. After 85 minutes of play Petersburg's Salim Benmabrouk was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 89 played minutes Petersburg got a freekick which was hit by Nadir Bougherra. Medjadi Boudiaf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdel Hamid Kraouche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd match minute, Lake Los Angeles AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rachid Baba Ali Djamel to maneuver through the defense. Lake Los Angeles AFC's Medjadi Boudiaf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Kheyari in the 97th minute of play. In the 98th minute, Nadir Bougherra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petersburg's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
