An unexpectedly hard shot by El Mansouri in the 13th minute of play forced Berkeley FC's goalkeeper Sid Moussaoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Berkeley FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Youssef Djura hit a great ball. Sid Moussaoui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from El Mansouri in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Berkeley FC booed when Lemon Grove FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abd al-Asis Aliche didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Bouzid Hamdoud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berkeley FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lemon Grove FC the free kick. In the 26th minute, Bouzid Hamdoud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sid Moussaoui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abd al-Asis Aliche, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Lemon Grove FC booed when Berkeley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehdi Belhagj didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sid Moussaoui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from El Mansouri in the 41st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lemon Grove FC's zone, Krim Bougherra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tedj Rahouli came out of the goal and Krim Bougherra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hocine Saïdi-Sief to strike the kick off in the second half. Krim Bougherra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, El Benmabrouk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Berkeley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bouzid Hamdoud to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling El Mansouri in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sid Moussaoui prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sid Moussaoui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from El Mansouri in the 66th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Mustapha Raï suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Mehdi Belhagj's late challenge caught a Lemon Grove FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mehdi Belhagj helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lemon Grove FC booed when Berkeley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mehdi Belhagj didn't get a good kick on the ball. El Benmabrouk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hocine Saïdi-Sief had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Berkeley FC's Krim Bougherra got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. El Benmabrouk struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Sid Moussaoui didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lemon Grove FC. 81 minutes into the match, Lemon Grove FC's El Benmabrouk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sid Moussaoui narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Krim Bougherra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mehdi Belhagj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Benmabrouk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. El Benmabrouk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sid Moussaoui having to interfere. The Berkeley FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lemon Grove FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Lemon Grove FC.
