With a little luck, Saginaw FC's Yacine Derrida got control of the ball when Noureddine Sofiane tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abdelmalek Adjani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Farid Said in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Cheb Zemmamouche recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yacine Derrida. Cheb Zemmamouche showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liamine Hamruche in the 36th managed to get into a good position. Liamine Hamruche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Adjani having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Farid Said got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Farid Said to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Saginaw FC's Farid Said nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Abdelmalek Adjani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Noureddine Sofiane might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yacine Derrida. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
