Samir Bougherra might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mahmoud Mihoubi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samir Bougherra ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Samir Bougherra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Citizens FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Samir Bougherra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mahmoud Mihoubi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samir Bougherra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mahmoud Mihoubi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute of the game, Abderrachid Medjiba landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Rafik Zoheir Djenia Lkbira fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blue Springs's protests and gave Rafik Zoheir Djenia Lkbira a yellow card for diving instead. Rafik Zoheir Djenia Lkbira hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Samir Bougherra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Citizens FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The referee ignored Citizens FC's protests and gave Ismael Moussa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Blue Springs booed when Citizens FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Moussa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Citizens FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Blue Springs:s goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdelmalek Amri to make the kick off. Samir Bougherra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mahmoud Mihoubi came out and tried to block the shot, but Samir Bougherra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 54th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Blue Springs's Abdelmalek Amri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Smail Louahla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Samir Bougherra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mahmoud Mihoubi having to interfere. When Karim Abdessalam came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Citizens FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karim Abdessalam couldn't finish the play. Smail Louahla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amine Mansouri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amine Mansouri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Smail Louahla having to interfere. If Abdelmalek Amri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 76 minutes into the game, Amine Mansouri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Smail Louahla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Samir Bougherra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toufik Boudiaf took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mahmoud Mihoubi. Mahmoud Mihoubi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. Samir Bougherra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Mahmoud Mihoubi made a huge save. Houari Fergani's late challenge caught a Blue Springs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Houari Fergani helped the player get up and apologised. Samir Bougherra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mahmoud Mihoubi having to make a save. The Blue Springs fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Citizens FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
