Hewlett's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crowley AFC the free kick. When Slimane Meskine came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Crowley AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Slimane Meskine couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Ali Khadra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ismaïl Belfaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafik Zoheir Boniche was the one to do the kick off. Slimane Meskine who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Abdelnasser Mezdad when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
