After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Farid Nasro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colby's supporters rose to their feet, but Farid Nasro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohamed Zafour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. August's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colby the free kick. A collision led to August getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Nordine Megharia hit a great ball. Farid Nasro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Mohamed Zafour made a huge save. The August fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when August's Hameur Hasni looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Hameur Hasni managed to get in a good position for a shot. If Rainer Ørbæk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Toufik Gourion breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 44 minutes into the match, Hameur Hasni notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Colby's Toufik Gourion. Toufik Gourion was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half August were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdellah Medjadi Kourichi to make the kick off. Belmadi Mezair kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Abdellah Medjadi Kourichi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Zafour having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Colby's zone, Rainer Ørbæk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toufik Gourion came out of the goal and Rainer Ørbæk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mohamed Zafour stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdellah Medjadi Kourichi's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdellah Medjadi Kourichi in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mohamed Zafour saved August from getting behind. Farid Nasro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Zafour having to interfere. August's Mohamed Zafour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Farid Nasro in the 88th minute of play. A collision led to August getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Abd al-Aziz Adjani hit a great ball.
