Abdelmalek Souakri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdelaziz Brahimi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 minutes of play, FENERBAHCE's Jean Labi made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abdelmalek Souakri was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in FENERBAHCE's zone, Mustapha Hamdani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kamel Macias came out of the goal and Mustapha Hamdani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maïssa Ghazi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kamel Macias having to interfere. When Mounir Chebal fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bay Harbor Islands's protests and gave Mounir Chebal a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Bay Harbor Islands got a freekick which was hit by Mounir Chebal. In the 44thth minute of the game Jean Labi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bay Harbor Islands's Abdelmalek Souakri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 49 minutes into the match, Abdelaziz Brahimi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abdelmalek Souakri. Bay Harbor Islands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abdelaziz Brahimi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

Bay Harbor Islands's Abdelmalek Souakri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Bay Harbor Islands from getting a goal against them. Jean Labi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Abdelmalek Souakri came out and tried to block the shot, but Jean Labi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-6 in the 78th minute. If Abdelaziz Brahimi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Labi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. FENERBAHCE's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Said Mansouri hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The supporters of FENERBAHCE booed when Bay Harbor Islands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mounir Chebal didn't get a good kick on the ball.
