The referee ignored Liberty's protests and gave Sid Ahmed Mamouni a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Liberty! Rachid Lemoui might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nasser Mimoun. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Summit AFC's Nasser Mimoun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rachid Lemoui in the 9th minute of play. After some careless play in the Summit AFC defense, Tayeb Zaaf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nasser Mimoun. The Summit AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nasser Mimoun should have stopped the shot. After 19 minutes, Khalida Lemoui mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liberty and the Summit AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 minutes, Abdelmalek El-Ouafi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Summit AFC and the Liberty players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Summit AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Bouabdellah Morceli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Mohamed Belmadi made a huge save. When Tayeb Zaaf came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Liberty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tayeb Zaaf couldn't finish the play. Tayeb Zaaf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nasser Mimoun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Salah Mamouni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Summit AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Tayeb Zaaf took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Nasser Mimoun to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Tayeb Zaaf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liberty's supporters rose to their feet, but Tayeb Zaaf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nasser Mimoun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Summit AFC booed when Liberty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohammed Souakri didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Fateh Benyamina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rachid Lemoui got free with Nasser Mimoun in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The goalkeeper, Nasser Mimoun, was totally fooled by Liberty's Mohamed Aribi, who 93 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Summit AFC's goalkeeper Nasser Mimoun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Summit AFC's zone, Tayeb Zaaf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nasser Mimoun came out of the goal and Tayeb Zaaf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
