Gothenburg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faouzi Boutabout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Abdelkader Khaled fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Phantom Troops FC's protests and gave Abdelkader Khaled a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cheikha Zarabi during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Abdel Karim Drioueche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abdelmalek Sifi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Salim Yahia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faouzi Boutabout in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Gothenburg FC's Faouzi Boutabout fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Salim Yahia was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Mourad Bentifour kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Nassim Labi charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nassim Labi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nassim Labi hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Hemza Adjani hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Abdelmalek Sifi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdel Karim Drioueche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gothenburg FC's Faouzi Boutabout got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mohammad Kaci Diafat came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Gothenburg FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohammad Kaci Diafat couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nassim Labi was the one to do the kick off. Gothenburg FC's Abdelmalek Sifi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mourad Bentifour in the 51st minute of play. In the 55th minute Faouzi Boutabout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salim Yahia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gothenburg FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Ali Mimoun hit a great ball. After 66 played minutes Gothenburg FC got a freekick which was hit by Amar Djenia Lkbira. When The Phantom Troops FC's Nassim Labi in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gothenburg FC's goalie prevented a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Gothenburg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mourad Bentifour came free, but Abdelmalek Sifi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salim Yahia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faouzi Boutabout in the 74th minute of the match. Abdel Karim Drioueche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Abdelmalek Sifi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nassim Labi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelmalek Sifi having to interfere. After 86 minutes, Amar Djenia Lkbira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gothenburg FC and the The Phantom Troops FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gothenburg FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Amar Djenia Lkbira hit a great ball. After 90 played minutes The Phantom Troops FC got a freekick which was hit by Smail Morceli. In the 92nd minute, Faouzi Boutabout got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hemza Adjani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gothenburg FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
