Abderrachid Yacef charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abderrachid Yacef the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rabah Meskine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sofiane Belkheir's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. If Sofiane Belkheir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceres's Rabah Meskine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillaume Laurent Benaouf in the 17th minute of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Sofiane Belkheir who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ceres's Rabah Meskine was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Sofiane Belkheir put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rabah Meskine. Charles Zaoui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tayeb El-Ouafi in the 23rd minute of play. Sofiane Belkheir took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rabah Meskine. Rabah Meskine dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Boughera Schoonmaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rabah Meskine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rabah Meskine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krim Boulebda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Sofiane Belkheir notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Ceres's Rabah Meskine. Rabah Meskine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th minute, Sofiane Belkheir made a precise shot to the right of Rabah Meskine. Ceres's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Ali Timsit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rabah Meskine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 0-6 became the score in the 45th minute when Sofiane Belkheir elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Belaid Belkheir made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Guillaume Laurent Benaouf made a precise shot to the right of Rabah Meskine. Ceres's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. The crowd rose to their feet as Sanfrecce Hiroshima's Ali Timsit slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rabah Meskine. That made the score 0-8 after 61 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Ceres's Tayeb El-Ouafi got a free kick in the 65th minute. Mouloud Aliche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rabah Meskine read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Sofiane Belkheir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rabah Meskine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mouloud Aliche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Ceres's goalkeeper Rabah Meskine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sofiane Belkheir. Rabah Meskine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krim Boulebda's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Sofiane Belkheir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rabah Meskine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rabah Meskine was a little too slow when Sofiane Belkheir got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-10. Rabah Meskine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sofiane Belkheir in the 86th minute of the match. Sofiane Belkheir might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rabah Meskine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sofiane Belkheir ran back to his position shaking his head. Krim Boulebda kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Sanfrecce Hiroshima played a much better game than Ceres and deserved their victory. The Ceres players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
