The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Khair ad-Din Zaoui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Djamel Boulmerka in the 12th minute of the match. Djamel Chedda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brockport's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Méniri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Cheb Zakaria made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Cheb Zakaria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Khair ad-Din Zaoui. Cheb Zakaria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Méniri in the 57th minute of play forced Inter de Quito F.C.'s goalkeeper Guillaume Laurent Malek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Djamel Boulmerka got free with Khair ad-Din Zaoui in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Khair ad-Din Zaoui managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Inter de Quito F.C.'s Djamel Boulmerka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Brockport lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
