Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Merrionette's attentive Djabir Ghozali managed to snatch the ball when Djamel Dahleb made a throw-in in the 5th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noureddine Cohen during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Merrionette defense, Rachid Tlemcani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cheb Meniri. The Merrionette fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cheb Meniri should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the game, Djamel Reda Madouni threw the ball into play from the sideline. Merrionette's Hocine Soltani quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Hocine Soltani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Djabir Ghozali hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Noureddine Cohen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Assia Iles was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Merrionette's Hocine Soltani managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Djamel Reda Madouni in the 37 minute of the game. 44 minutes into the match, Sid Nabil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cheb Meniri. Merrionette's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sid Nabil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Hometown were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Bendjedid Hindi made the kick off in the second half. Merrionette's Noureddine Cohen managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Djamel Dahleb in the 52 minute of the game. If Eskuin Izaguirre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rachid Tlemcani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Cheb Meniri made a huge save. In the 57th minute Bendjedid Hindi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheb Meniri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merrionette's Eskuin Izaguirre got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Hometown's Sid Nabil dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 67th minute, Merrionette's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rachid Tlemcani fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Rachid Tlemcani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Merrionette getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Eskuin Izaguirre hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Bendjedid Hindi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cheb Meniri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Ahmed Bougherra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Merrionette getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Djabir Ghozali hit a great ball. Hometown's Slimane Touhami got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rachid Tlemcani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Ahmed Bougherra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Merrionette's Cheb Meniri didn't even have to move. In the 92nd minute, Bendjedid Hindi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cheb Meniri. The goal made the score 1-4. Cheb Meniri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Nabil in the 96th minute of the match.
