One of Lowell FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bolivar:s goal. The referee gave Bolivar a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hemza Aliche, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lowell FC's Silviu Lung. 0-1. The supporters of Bolivar booed when Lowell FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hocine Assad didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Bolivar's Senijad Ibričić sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silviu Lung narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tedj Sellal in the 15th minute of play forced Lowell FC's goalkeeper Silviu Lung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Hemza Aliche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silviu Lung saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Lowell FC booed when Bolivar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Calderero didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Patrik Stöckert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grigore Coșereanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Saad Dar came out and tried to block the shot, but Grigore Coșereanu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 28th minute. Silviu Lung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Stöckert in the 31st minute of play. Silviu Lung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordão Sesimbra in the 32nd minute of the match. Lowell FC's Silviu Lung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Stöckert in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Brett Cordrey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Silviu Lung was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brett Cordrey in the 40th minute of play forced Lowell FC's goalkeeper Silviu Lung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Lowell FC's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Cordrey came free, but Silviu Lung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th match minute, Lowell FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar Mattos to maneuver through the defense. Bolivar made a substitution. Romulo Cesario replaced Patrik Stöckert. In the 49th minute, Osmar Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 50th minute, Brett Cordrey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silviu Lung was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Grigore Coșereanu to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Senijad Ibričić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bolivar's supporters rose to their feet, but Senijad Ibričić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silviu Lung breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 60 played minutes Bolivar got a freekick which was hit by Rund Boll. After some careless play in the Lowell FC defense, Brett Cordrey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silviu Lung. The Lowell FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silviu Lung should have stopped the shot. Lowell FC's Silviu Lung played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Calderero in the 76th minute of play. Silviu Lung didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Senijad Ibričić went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Lowell FC's Silviu Lung got control of the ball when Romulo Cesario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romulo Cesario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Silviu Lung made a huge save. Lowell FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Brett Cordrey scored to the left of an out of position Silviu Lung, making the score, 1-7. The audience was convinced that Tedj Sellal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silviu Lung was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. 93 minutes into the match, Lowell FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tedj Sellal came free, but Silviu Lung reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tedj Sellal came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Bolivar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tedj Sellal couldn't finish the play. Lowell FC's attentive Uku Allikas managed to snatch the ball when Esteban Calderero made a throw-in in the 97th minute of the game. Silviu Lung made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Tedj Sellal sent off a good shot on target. Bolivar played a much better game than Lowell FC and deserved their victory. The Lowell FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
