Spectators: 6729 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Willie Guidry kicked off to start the match. Seaforth AFC's Stevie Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willie Guidry in the 3rd minute of play. Alphonse Callahan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yong Salmons, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Bob McClendon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alphonse Callahan having to interfere. After having played for 9 minutes, Bob McClendon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seaforth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob McClendon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Seaforth AFC's Stevie Murphy got control of the ball when Nestor Oconnell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bob McClendon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Arrandale FC booed when Seaforth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Curran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Bob McClendon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alphonse Callahan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes, Fernand Little mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seaforth AFC and the Arrandale FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Seaforth AFC! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Nestor Oconnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
