Quentin Gendron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Columbus Lopez made a huge save. Doyle Rudolph kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Dupuy's goalkeeper Columbus Lopez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harland Castaneda. Creighton's René Bilodeau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valéry Schneider in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Creighton's goal looked a bit too open when Hassan Fagan came free, but René Bilodeau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Giguère sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Leslie Hanks charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leslie Hanks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes Creighton got a freekick which was hit by Leslie Hanks. The supporters of Dupuy booed when Creighton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurtis Pierson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hassan Fagan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 77th minute. When Hassan Fagan came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Dupuy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hassan Fagan couldn't finish the play. Creighton's René Bilodeau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Creighton from getting a goal against them. Dupuy's Columbus Lopez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Sutherland in the 89th minute of play. Valentin Sutherland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Columbus Lopez having to interfere.
