The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Edmonton's Clarence Rosales seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Clarence Rosales the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Edmonton protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Clarence Rosales had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Clarence Rosales hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Sedalia AFC's Victor Field got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luc McElroy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luc McElroy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Linwood Melanson having to interfere. Wayne Youngblood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Henry Hawk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Edmonton's Linwood Melanson got control of the ball when Clay Desilets tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sedalia AFC's zone, Henry Hawk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Levi Gray came out of the goal and Henry Hawk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jesus Langlais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edmonton's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesus Langlais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Levi Gray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Linwood Melanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luc McElroy in the 30th minute of play. In the last second Linwood Melanson throw himself and got hold of the ball when Luc McElroy in the 32ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luc McElroy in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Linwood Melanson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Sedalia AFC's Luc McElroy in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edmonton's goalie prevented a goal. 36 minutes into the game, Aldo Kilgore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Edmonton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sedalia AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Edmonton's Aldo Kilgore got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 38 played minutes, Sedalia AFC's Rudolph Lacy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Linwood Melanson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sedalia AFC reached it. The supporters of Sedalia AFC booed when Edmonton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Person didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Edmonton's zone, Luc McElroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Linwood Melanson came out of the goal and Luc McElroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Levi Gray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henry Hawk's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Clay Desilets could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Linwood Melanson made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Luc McElroy made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Wayne Youngblood managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edmonton's supporters rose to their feet, but Wayne Youngblood was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Levi Gray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henry Hawks short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Levi Gray to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sedalia AFC's Clay Desilets got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luc McElroy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henry Hawk didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-1 via right post in the game's 63rd minute. Edmonton's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After a rather tough play, Edmonton's Jesus Langlais got a free kick in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luc McElroy in the 69th minute of play forced Edmonton's goalkeeper Linwood Melanson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 minutes, Jack Staley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Edmonton and the Sedalia AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Luc McElroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Clay Desilets managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sedalia AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clay Desilets was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luc McElroy kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Levi Gray acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jesus Langlais. In the 79th minute, Henry Hawk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kraig Rowell charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kraig Rowell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kraig Rowell hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Henry Hawk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Hawk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Levi Gray having to interfere. Wayne Youngblood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
