Linwood Melanson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Linwood Melanson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valéry Schneider in the 12th minute of the match. Jesus Langlais kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Valéry Schneider had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jesus Langlais hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Henry Hawk made a precise shot to the right of Columbus Lopez. Dupuy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Linwood Melanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hassan Fagan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jesus Langlais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute, Edmonton's Rodger Person dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. With his leg Columbus Lopez managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Edmonton's Henry Hawk fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Henry Hawks short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Columbus Lopez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henry Hawk was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Henry Hawk sped through Dupuy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Columbus Lopez. After a defensive mix-up in Dupuy's zone, Henry Hawk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Columbus Lopez came out of the goal and Henry Hawk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Henry Hawk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henry Hawk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Columbus Lopez having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Aurelien Routhier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 62 minutes, Henry Hawk made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Dupuy's Columbus Lopez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 68 minutes into the match, Dupuy's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Staley came free, but Columbus Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70thth minute of the game Henry Hawk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dupuy's Columbus Lopez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Hawk in the 73rd minute of play forced Dupuy's goalkeeper Columbus Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Henry Hawk came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Edmonton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Hawk couldn't finish the play. Clarence Rosales hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dupuy's zone, Henry Hawk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Columbus Lopez came out of the goal and Henry Hawk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes Edmonton got a freekick which was hit by Clarence Rosales. Columbus Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jack Staley in the 87th minute of the match. Jesus Langlais hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 92 minutes into the game, David Giguère was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dupuy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Edmonton the free kick. David Giguère kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. There was no doubt that Edmonton were the better team. Edmonton's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
