Spectators: 6737 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 0) 5 minutes into the match, Cambridge's goalkeeper Wilbert Bellamy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Devon LaGarde. Devon LaGarde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbert Bellamy having to interfere. If Valentin Aviles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Son Hackett in the 14th minute of play forced Villers AFC's goalkeeper Zachariah Pineda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 played minutes Cambridge got a freekick which was hit by Johnson Deschênes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robby Hinojosa in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilbert Bellamy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eustache Rivard shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 32 minutes into the match, Villers AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Son Hackett came free, but Zachariah Pineda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Branch during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Villers AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Branch to maneuver through the defense. In the 34thth minute of the game Son Hackett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villers AFC's Zachariah Pineda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Son Hackett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cambridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Son Hackett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Son Hackett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilbert Bellamy came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Villers AFC's Devon LaGarde. But to his dismay, Devon LaGarde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Kelley Acevedo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilbert Bellamy. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. In the 48th minute, Son Hackett made a precise shot to the right of Zachariah Pineda. Villers AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Aviles to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Cambridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brian Wise to maneuver through the defense. Lonnie Sheppard charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lonnie Sheppard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, Lonnie Sheppard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilbert Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devon LaGarde in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of Villers AFC booed when Cambridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willian House didn't get a good kick on the ball. Devon LaGarde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rdth minute of the game Valentin Aviles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villers AFC's Zachariah Pineda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Devon LaGarde came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Villers AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Devon LaGarde couldn't finish the play. Son Hackett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cambridge's Valentin Aviles got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Son Hackett came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Cambridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Son Hackett couldn't finish the play. Zachariah Pineda came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Cambridge's Valentin Aviles. But to his dismay, Valentin Aviles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cambridge walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
