With a left leg Wilbert Bellamy saved Cambridge from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, Greenspond FC's Prosper Bourdette sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilbert Bellamy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bryce Levy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentin Aviles's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. If Valentin Aviles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes Greenspond FC got a freekick which was hit by Lowell Lafond. If Valentin Aviles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Son Hackett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryce Levy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45thth minute of the game Valentin Aviles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Greenspond FC's Bryce Levy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Cambridge fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Cambridge's Valentin Aviles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Cambridge were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Valentin Aviles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambridge's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentin Aviles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bryce Levy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Son Hackett came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Cambridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Son Hackett couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Johnson Deschênes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Greenspond FC's Bryce Levy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Greenspond FC from getting a goal against them. Florentin Prince sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryce Levy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Aviles, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. When Dale Labbé fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Greenspond FC's protests and gave Dale Labbé a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cambridge eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
