The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Madawaska FC booed when Greenspond FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milton Godin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greenspond FC's Bryce Levy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Greenspond FC from getting a goal against them. Laurent Bartley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bryce Levy having to interfere. Laurent Bartley scored 1-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bryce Levy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bryce Levy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quincy McCall's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. If Florentin Prince had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Madawaska FC's Quincy McCall ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bryce Levy. Bryce Levy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 32nd minute, Florentin Prince left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Greenspond FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Madawaska FC's goalkeeper Edmund Sexton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Florentin Prince fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Sexton having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentin Prince in the 45th minute of play forced Madawaska FC's goalkeeper Edmund Sexton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florentin Prince to make the kick off. Florentin Prince had several of the Madawaska FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Edmund Sexton as he didn't even see the shot coming. Stan Foote fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Sexton having to interfere. If Prosper Bourdette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bryce Levy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quincy McCall in the 76th minute of the match. Bryce Levy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quincy McCall, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Madawaska FC's Laurent Bartley in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Edmund Sexton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Madawaska FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Burt Helton hit a great ball. Florentin Prince sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Madawaska FC's Edmund Sexton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Madawaska FC from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Greenspond FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
