Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Valentin Aviles got the match started through his kick off. The Cambridge fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Cambridge's Son Hackett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 21st minute Lucio Case shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilbert Bellamy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Bolton's Gerardo Amos got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the game, Valentin Aviles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Cleveland Evans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bolton's goalkeeper Cleveland Evans, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olen Rivers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbert Bellamy having to interfere. After the first half Cambridge were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucio Case was the one to do the kick off. Cleveland Evans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Aviles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Son Hackett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilbert Bellamy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucio Case's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Olen Rivers took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilbert Bellamy. Wilbert Bellamy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Wilbert Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olen Rivers in the 76th minute of play. If Olen Rivers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute of the match Anibal Parnell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cleveland Evans skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Aviles got free with Cleveland Evans in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cambridge's Valentin Aviles got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
