When Philibert L'Anglais came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Ethelbert fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philibert L'Anglais couldn't finish the play. Arlen Crane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Ljungberg in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Calvin Marion was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ethelbert's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Edmonton the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Ethelbert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calvin Marion to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Lane Echeverri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arlen Crane. Ethelbert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lane Echeverri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Ayala in the 26th minute of play forced Edmonton's goalkeeper Zack Chatman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlen Crane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baptiste Poirier, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Jimmy Moberg hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The throw-in from Terrence Osborne in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ethelbert's Marion Palacios. The audience was convinced that Lane Echeverri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arlen Crane was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ignacio Ayala stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Ljungberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlen Crane having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Edmonton's Sean Eubanks got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ignacio Ayala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arlen Crane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Ljungberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute Philibert L'Anglais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zack Chatman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ethelbert booed when Edmonton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Eubanks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arlen Crane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Ljungberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Ethelbert's zone, Baptiste Poirier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlen Crane came out of the goal and Baptiste Poirier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Lane Echeverri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ethelbert's Arlen Crane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Emanuel Ljungberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arlen Crane. That made the score 1-4 in the 92 minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Emanuel Ljungberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edmonton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Ljungberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmonton played a much better game than Ethelbert and deserved their victory. The Ethelbert players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
