Zack Chatman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Ames, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Edmonton's Zack Chatman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Ames in the 20th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Baptiste Poirier took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Frankie Drummond to make any attempt to save it. Baptiste Poirier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Frankie Drummond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frankie Drummond was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emanuel Ljungberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Edmonton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Eubanks to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Edmonton booed when Commanda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davis Brunson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lane Echeverri struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Frankie Drummond didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edmonton. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A very good chance for a goal. When Lane Echeverri came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Edmonton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lane Echeverri couldn't finish the play.
