The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Matane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Val Winkler to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Matane's zone, Ignace Gibson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garrett Logan came out of the goal and Ignace Gibson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aron Woodson struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Garrett Logan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Midnapore. When Fausto Dubeau fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matane's protests and gave Fausto Dubeau a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Matane getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Fausto Dubeau hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Midnapore defense, Georges Paiement kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stephan Melanson. The Midnapore fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stephan Melanson should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Midnapore's Jamal Yang got a free kick in the 27th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Ignace Gibson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Midnapore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignace Gibson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Clayton Crawford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ignace Gibson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Garrett Logan was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Ignace Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garrett Logan having to interfere. Alex Clayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Clayton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stephan Melanson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Clayton, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ignace Gibson made a kick off. Ignace Gibson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Garrett Logan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Georges Paiement's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stephan Melanson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Georges Paiement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan Melanson having to interfere. Ignace Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garrett Logan having to interfere. Garrett Logan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignace Gibson in the 84th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Ignace Gibson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Midnapore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignace Gibson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jamal Yang was shown his second yellow card after 89 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Georges Paiement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephan Melanson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georges Paiement in the 93rd minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Midnapore players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Matane.
