Donald Grandpré might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stephan Melanson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donald Grandpré ran back to his position shaking his head. With 4 minutes on the clock, Stanton Bartlett commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Midnapore! Joseph Puckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Stephan Melanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ignace Gibson came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Midnapore fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ignace Gibson couldn't finish the play. Donald Grandpré's late challenge caught a Midnapore's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donald Grandpré helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Richmond Hill United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donald Grandpré to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Joseph Puckett notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Midnapore's Stephan Melanson. Stephan Melanson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michael Hudson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ahmad Shirley. In the 24th match minute, Richmond Hill United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Don Norton to maneuver through the defense. Ignace Gibson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Michael Hudson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stephan Melanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Puckett in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Richmond Hill United booed when Midnapore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamal Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ignace Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Hudson having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Ignace Gibson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Midnapore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignace Gibson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ignace Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Hudson having to interfere. With his leg Michael Hudson managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Midnapore's Ignace Gibson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Michael Hudson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignace Gibson in the 44th minute. Michael Hudson came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Midnapore's Aron Woodson. But to his dismay, Aron Woodson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 53rd minute of the match, Omer Esparza got a very nice opportunity to score, but Stephan Melanson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Joseph Puckett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Stephan Melanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. One of Midnapore:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Richmond Hill United:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Ignace Gibson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Midnapore's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignace Gibson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Hudson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jamal Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Midnapore's goalkeeper Stephan Melanson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donald Grandpré. Richmond Hill United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
