After 20 minutes of play, Richmond's Claude Rushing made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hilton Guy was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute of the match, Tyrone Fitzpatrick tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Prosper Osborn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rickie Aragon in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Prosper Osborn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Bruce Bates came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Richmond fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruce Bates couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Rickie Aragon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Rickie Aragons short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Prosper Osborn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Richmond's Prosper Osborn got control of the ball when Rickie Aragon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joel Montano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Prosper Osborn came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Montano slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 37th minute. If Bruce Bates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prosper Osborn made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Rickie Aragon sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rickie Aragon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Tyrone Fitzpatrick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Richmond getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Michal Greene hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Rickie Aragon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Prosper Osborn was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 64th minute Rickie Aragon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prosper Osborn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklyn Forbes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prosper Osborn having to interfere. In the 70th minute Rickie Aragon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prosper Osborn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rickie Aragon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Prosper Osborn was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Prosper Osborn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rickie Aragon's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Rickie Aragon came free, but Prosper Osborn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jamie Richard fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Richmond's protests and gave Jamie Richard a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Red Deer booed when Richmond was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Richard didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Red Deer's Keith Diaz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Prosper Osborn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Richmond's Prosper Osborn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickie Aragon in the 86th minute of play. Claude Rushing blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hilton Guy having to make a save. Prosper Osborn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickie Aragon in the 90th minute of the match.
