Richmond's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ennadai the free kick. Prosper Osborn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quinn Zeigler in the 8th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Quinn Zeigler came free, but Prosper Osborn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Brendon Root had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Richmond's goalkeeper Prosper Osborn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brendon Root. Prosper Osborn didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 27th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. With a little luck, Richmond's Prosper Osborn got control of the ball when Brendon Root tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Bruce Bates managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Richmond's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruce Bates was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Ennadai's Quinn Zeigler got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 44th match minute, Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jérôme Rodgers to maneuver through the defense.

If Claude Rushing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidney Brady showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruce Bates, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Quinn Zeigler came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Ennadai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quinn Zeigler couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristopher Brady in the 90th minute of play forced Richmond's goalkeeper Prosper Osborn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ennadai's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
