The supporters of Lanigan AFC booed when Tracy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrice Trudeau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute, Denis Dawkins reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Florencio Dobbins. The goal made the score 1-0. Florencio Dobbins acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 8th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rosario Frank. Florencio Dobbins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glen Reid in the 10th minute. Erich Larsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tracy AFC's Philbert Guinn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rhett Coates in the 24th minute of play. Glen Reid's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Florencio Dobbins skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Rhett Coates managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanigan AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rhett Coates was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philbert Guinn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lanigan AFC's Florencio Dobbins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Dawkins in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tracy AFC's zone, Rhett Coates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philbert Guinn came out of the goal and Rhett Coates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rhett Coates stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erich Larsen had several of the Tracy AFC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 52 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Philbert Guinn as he didn't even see the shot coming. Erich Larsen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Philbert Guinn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rosario Frank kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Erich Larsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rhett Coates came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Lanigan AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rhett Coates couldn't finish the play. After 71 played minutes Lanigan AFC got a freekick which was hit by Coleman Cross. Florencio Dobbins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Reid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rhett Coates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erich Larsen got free with Philbert Guinn in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denis Dawkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Dobbins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Dawkins ran back to his position shaking his head. Florencio Dobbins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glen Reid's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. If Rhett Coates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rhett Coates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Philbert Guinn managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Lanigan AFC's Erich Larsen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 91 minutes into the match, Lanigan AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Glen Reid came free, but Florencio Dobbins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erich Larsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philbert Guinn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Lanigan AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
