The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Karl Yang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karl Yang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jerome Holden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jerome Holden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Olsen in the 17th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Karl Yang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nachvak's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl Yang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerome Holden breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nachvak's Stacey Keith proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Nachvak from getting a goal against them. In the 27thth minute of the game Denny Obrien who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nachvak's Stacey Keith was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jerome Holden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Olsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Stan Cottrell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bridgewater AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nachvak the free kick. After 36 played minutes Bridgewater AFC got a freekick which was hit by Stan Cottrell. The supporters of Nachvak booed when Bridgewater AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Dodson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nachvak's Stacey Keith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denny Obrien in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Shad Darby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Lonny Patenaude sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
