Armel Amos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Joseph Akins made a huge save. Peter Zimmerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bradford Mayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delmar Rivers hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Peter Zimmerman came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Carmel AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Zimmerman couldn't finish the play. Vincenzo Brodeur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Zimmerman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bradford Mayes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. If Armel Amos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd match minute, Rockport AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmar Rivers to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Peter Zimmerman sped through Rockport AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bradford Mayes. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Zimmerman was the one to do the kick off. Carmel AFC's Peter Zimmerman got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
