Joseph Akins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominique Sauriol in the 5th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Guillaume Curtis made a precise shot to the right of Joseph Akins. Carmel AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Darrel Ohara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Zimmerman in the 10th minute of play. Sarnia's Darrel Ohara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Sarnia from getting a goal against them. If Guillaume Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Vincenzo Brodeur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmel AFC's Joseph Akins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillaume Curtis in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Jean Herrington was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarnia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carmel AFC the free kick. The supporters of Carmel AFC booed when Sarnia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Herrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vincenzo Brodeur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Peter Zimmerman might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Darrel Ohara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Zimmerman ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Sarnia's Darrel Ohara got control of the ball when Vincenzo Brodeur tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominique Sauriol in the 33rd minute of play forced Carmel AFC's goalkeeper Joseph Akins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarnia's goalkeeper Darrel Ohara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Carmel AFC booed when Sarnia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Herrington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vincenzo Brodeur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darrel Ohara having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Dominique Sauriol made a precise shot to the right of Joseph Akins. Carmel AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dominique Sauriol made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Vincenzo Brodeur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carmel AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincenzo Brodeur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darrel Ohara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dominique Sauriol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillaume Curtis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Joseph Akins made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louis Siegel in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darrel Ohara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guillaume Curtis struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Joseph Akins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarnia. Guillaume Curtis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dominique Sauriol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joseph Akins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Guillaume Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antwan Simms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sarnia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
