Edgard Gabriaux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murray Mayer, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Xavier Compton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidro Chase in the 20th minute. Oscar Benjamin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Edgard Gabriaux tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Xavier Compton. If Keenan Orr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Barraute FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rueben Brennan hit a great ball. Isidro Chase sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Benjamin to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Barraute FC's Edgard Gabriaux threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oscar Benjamin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 72 played minutes Barraute FC got a freekick which was hit by Sherwood McFadden. Xavier Compton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidro Chase in the 73rd minute of the match. Barraute FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
