Leon Nadeau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darrel Ohara having to interfere. Guillaume Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darrel Ohara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Nadeau in the 12th minute of the match. Darrel Ohara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Nadeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Sarnia's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Nadeau came free, but Darrel Ohara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Nadeau in the 27th minute of play forced Sarnia's goalkeeper Darrel Ohara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Connie Kimbrough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dominique Sauriol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guillaume Curtis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sarnia's Dominique Sauriol got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alec Gipson during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sarnia's Alec Gipson got a free kick in the 46th minute. Leon Nadeau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leon Nadeau to make the kick off. When Rashad Butcher fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hectanooga's protests and gave Rashad Butcher a yellow card for diving instead. Rashad Butcher kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Dominique Sauriol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connie Kimbrough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes, Boyce Holley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hectanooga and the Sarnia players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Guillaume Curtis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
