When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denny Caldwell made a kick off. After some careless play in the Broadview defense, Maurice Gaines kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Monty Vaughan. The Broadview fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Monty Vaughan should have stopped the shot. Broadview's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Haileybury. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Maurice Gaines put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Monty Vaughan. Josue Wells's late challenge caught a Haileybury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Claud Cates came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Broadview fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claud Cates couldn't finish the play. Dustin Austin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Monty Vaughan having to make a save. Haileybury's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
