Eloy Rudolph kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Lothaire Koenig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Sorel defense, Kris Guillory kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugène Curran. The Sorel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugène Curran should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Edmundo Bray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Maurice Gaines managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haileybury's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurice Gaines was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugène Curran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henri Block received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Eugène Curran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Maurice Gaines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugène Curran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Haileybury's Maurice Gaines nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eugène Curran made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Eugène Curran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurice Gaines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sorel's zone, Maurice Gaines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugène Curran came out of the goal and Maurice Gaines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 29 minutes into the match, Kris Guillory had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eugène Curran. Sorel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kris Guillory was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 33rdth minute of the game Maurice Gaines who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sorel's Eugène Curran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th match minute, Haileybury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wade Beaulé to maneuver through the defense. Maurice Gaines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Bray made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sorel's goalkeeper Eugène Curran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurice Gaines. Dustin Austin charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dustin Austin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kris Guillory got free with Eugène Curran in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eugène Curran came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Haileybury's Maurice Gaines. But to his dismay, Maurice Gaines quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Elkins in the 63rd minute of play forced Haileybury's goalkeeper Ollie Rhéaume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurice Gaines recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurice Gaines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugène Curran having to interfere. Edmundo Bray hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Maurice Gaines notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Sorel's Eugène Curran. Eugène Curran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 78thth minute of the game Kris Guillory who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sorel's Eugène Curran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maurice Gaines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugène Curran having to interfere. Eloy Rudolph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ollie Rhéaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurice Gaines who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Eugène Curran when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eugène Curran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Kimbrough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Guillory in the 90th minute of play forced Sorel's goalkeeper Eugène Curran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sorel's Eugène Curran got control of the ball when Benny Kimbrough tried to sneak it across the goal line. Haileybury's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
