In the 23rd minute Bob LondeLalonde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Clayton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Elbert Allain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Merrill Sheppard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eloy Bateman in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Eloy Bateman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alma AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Stan Clayton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Escobar's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Jefferson Wilcox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Clayton having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eloy Bateman to make the kick off. Carlo Cormier hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 53 played minutes Alma AFC got a freekick which was hit by Esmé Jarvis. Stan Clayton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jefferson Wilcox's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jefferson Wilcox in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stan Clayton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 69 minutes, Eloy Bateman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alma AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Bateman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eloy Bateman in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Merrill Sheppard saved Sointula AFC from getting behind. Eloy Bateman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merrill Sheppard having to interfere. The Alma AFC fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Alma AFC's Eloy Bateman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 82 minutes into the match, Sointula AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Bateman came free, but Merrill Sheppard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merrill Sheppard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloy Bateman, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
