Spectators: 6737 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1737, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oswaldo Mayberry started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Oswaldo Mayberry scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Stephan L'Hiver who was too lazy, 1-0. 6 minutes into the match, Gem's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Mayberry came free, but Stephan L'Hiver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Abraham Bain notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Gorlitz AFC's Grady Lécuyer. Grady Lécuyer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Gorlitz AFC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jackson Clements hit a great ball. In the 20thth minute of the game Marcus Paquet who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorlitz AFC's Grady Lécuyer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute Marcus Paquet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grady Lécuyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kelley Akins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gem booed when Gorlitz AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clark Lilly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grady Lécuyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Bain in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Marcus Paquet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heath Lord got free with Stephan L'Hiver in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Mayberry in the 43rd minute of play forced Gem's goalkeeper Stephan L'Hiver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Gorlitz AFC's Heath Lord nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stephan L'Hiver made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marcus Paquet made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gorlitz AFC's Jackson Clements got a free kick in the 64th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Gem's Jarvis Huston tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Abraham Bain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Grady Lécuyer having to interfere. If Abraham Bain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lynn Christie fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorlitz AFC's protests and gave Lynn Christie a yellow card for diving instead. Lynn Christie hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Marcus Paquet struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Grady Lécuyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gem. After a defensive mix-up in Gorlitz AFC's zone, Abraham Bain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grady Lécuyer came out of the goal and Abraham Bain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Mayberry in the 77th minute of play forced Gem's goalkeeper Stephan L'Hiver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stephan L'Hiver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heath Lord in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Gem getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Wallace Smalls hit a great ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
