In the 19thth minute of the game Russell Gingras who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sointula AFC's Merrill Sheppard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Theo Morton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Merrill Sheppard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurora's Malcolm Booth got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorge Corpeño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Wilcox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Russell Gingras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 minutes, Russell Gingras made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Sointula AFC's Merrill Sheppard tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russell Gingras in the 38th minute of play forced Sointula AFC's goalkeeper Merrill Sheppard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Malcolm Booth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jefferson Wilcox to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Normand Mullen got free with Merrill Sheppard in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aurora's Russell Gingras was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal.
