Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesaire Carmichael in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pat Pate prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute, Vito Velazquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldo Bourgouin kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Cando's Cesaire Carmichael got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chet Shields made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Cando's goal looked a bit too open when Chad Corey came free, but Adrian Nixon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Chet Shields in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Chet Shields had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wetaskiwin's Pat Pate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesaire Carmichael in the 84th minute of play. Cesaire Carmichael's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pat Pate read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Chet Shields had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Nixon. Cando's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chet Shields was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Adrian Nixon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chet Shields in the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cando players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wetaskiwin.
