When Lomond's Henri Garreau in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Penetanguishene AFC's goalie prevented a goal. After 6 played minutes Penetanguishene AFC got a freekick which was hit by Devon Valentin. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francis Leonard got free with Winfred Chalut in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henri Garreau in the 10th minute of play forced Penetanguishene AFC's goalkeeper Winfred Chalut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Penetanguishene AFC's Winfred Chalut got control of the ball when Francis Leonard tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Lomond's goal looked a bit too open when Marion Miles came free, but Chet Ball reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Lomond's Henri Garreau ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Winfred Chalut. Winfred Chalut yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ulysses Choi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Henri Garreau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Winfred Chalut stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henri Garreau's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henri Garreau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Henri Garreau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winfred Chalut saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulysses Choi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chet Ball having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Penetanguishene AFC's Ulysses Choi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Francis Leonard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francis Leonard struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Winfred Chalut didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lomond. When Ulysses Choi came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Penetanguishene AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulysses Choi couldn't finish the play. If Francis Leonard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henri Garreau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Winfred Chalut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tyson Gipson hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Penetanguishene AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
