Marlon Rhéaume who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Mohammad Hartley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marlon Rhéaumes short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Mohammad Hartley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Perry Travis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ethan Harrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Ethan Harrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Ethan Harrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perry Travis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Blackwater's Justin Craft got a free kick in the 35th minute. Marlon Rhéaume struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Mohammad Hartley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blackwater. 40 minutes into the match, Blackwater's Rich Banks sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mohammad Hartley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Franklin Bourget to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Franklin Bourget shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perry Travis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Franklin Bourget managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Bourget was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jon Ledford charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Blackwater's Rich Banks got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Rich Banks notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Yale's Mohammad Hartley. Mohammad Hartley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rich Banks in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohammad Hartley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mohammad Hartley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlon Rhéaume in the 80th minute of play. Franklin Bourget might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Perry Travis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franklin Bourget ran back to his position shaking his head. Josh Saunders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Perry Travis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marlon Rhéaume received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute.
