Belmont's Arlen Patry proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Belmont from getting a goal against them. After 13 minutes, Jamel Rouse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chevaliers de Québec and the Belmont players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jamel Rouse hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Jay McDonough showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delbert Ingram in the 16th minute of the match. Delbert Ingram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jay McDonough tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lewis Chatigny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jay McDonough having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chevaliers de Québec's zone, Truman Wheeler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jay McDonough came out of the goal and Truman Wheeler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delbert Ingram in the 26th minute of play forced Chevaliers de Québec's goalkeeper Jay McDonough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lewis Chatigny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jamel Rouse got his second yellow card in the match during the 30th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 30th match minute, Chevaliers de Québec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamel Rouse to maneuver through the defense. When Titus Broussard came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Chevaliers de Québec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Titus Broussard couldn't finish the play. Titus Broussard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Titus Broussard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 48 minutes of play, Belmont's Lewis Chatigny made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jay McDonough was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norman Villanueva to make the kick off. If Clemente Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlen Patry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Titus Broussard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Titus Broussard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlen Patry having to interfere. Norbert Peacock's late challenge caught a Chevaliers de Québec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norbert Peacock helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 played minutes Belmont got a freekick which was hit by Norbert Peacock. John Zoolingen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlen Patry having to interfere. John Zoolingen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Norman Villanueva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chevaliers de Québec's Titus Broussard got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Titus Broussard struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Arlen Patry didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chevaliers de Québec. When the final whistle went the supporters of Belmont were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Chevaliers de Québec side.
