He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vandry AFC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Haywood in the 7th minute of play forced Maxville's goalkeeper Guillaume Muniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kirk Aucoin charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kirk Aucoin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Maxville's Kirk Aucoin got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 13 minutes, Joachim Riquier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vandry AFC and the Maxville players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, one of Vandry AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vandry AFC. The referee gave Maxville a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Trenton Farmer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vandry AFC's Merlin Jetté. 1-0. After 19 minutes of play Maxville's Kirk Aucoin was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Maxville's Kirk Aucoin got a free kick in the 20th minute. Shannon Kirkpatrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Maxville's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Ruff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Merlin Jetté breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jordon Covillon to strike the kick off in the second half. If Chester Witt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Maxville's Guillaume Muniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Maxville from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shannon Kirkpatrick got free with Guillaume Muniz in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Shannon Kirkpatrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Maxville:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vandry AFC:s goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
