Raymond Snyder who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Arturo Barton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot by Robin Lizotte from long distance, 7 minutes into the match, got Arturo Barton's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Raymond Snyder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Arturo Barton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The nice shot from Raymond Snyder in the 11thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Arturo Barton had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clyde Vogt in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leandro Labrecque saved Cliffside FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Miocene's zone, Raymond Snyder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Barton came out of the goal and Raymond Snyder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Raymond Snyder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Clyde Vogt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Labrecque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Raymond Snyder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cliffside FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond Snyder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 30 minutes, Solomon Hollingsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Evan Thayer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leandro Labrecque. Cliffside FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Miocene getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Travis Guinn hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Lampron in the 46th minute of play forced Miocene's goalkeeper Arturo Barton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marlin Skaggs fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miocene's protests and gave Marlin Skaggs a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Miocene got a freekick which was hit by Marlin Skaggs. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Solomon Hollingsworth was the one to do the kick off. Clyde Vogt charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clyde Vogt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Solomon Hollingsworth took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Leandro Labrecque to make any attempt to save it. Travis Guinn's late challenge caught a Cliffside FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Travis Guinn helped the player get up and apologised. Travis Guinn hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Frank Lampron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cliffside FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Lampron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Barton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st match minute, Miocene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lyle Grubb to maneuver through the defense. Cliffside FC's Luke Vann got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Miocene's Hipolito Mercier got a free kick in the 88th minute. Frank Lampron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 95 minutes, Clyde Vogt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Miocene's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clyde Vogt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miocene's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
