Spectators: 6720 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marty Cardenas got the match started through his kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ellsworth Spicer in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abdul Nesbitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 8 minutes, Marty Cardenas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matheson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marty Cardenas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Matheson FC's Anatole Snyder got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Israel McCann, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 15 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Abdul Nesbitt was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 16th match minute, Matheson FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olen Rubio to maneuver through the defense. When Dennis Riley fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vantage AFC's protests and gave Dennis Riley a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vantage AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Dennis Riley hit a great ball. After 25 minutes, Marty Cardenas made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Vantage AFC's Ivan Tilley tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Matheson FC's Abdul Nesbitt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Matheson FC from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd match minute, Matheson FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Bridges to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Vantage AFC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ken Williams hit a great ball. Ivan Tilley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marty Cardenas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Tilley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Cardenas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vantage AFC's zone, Marty Cardenas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Tilley came out of the goal and Marty Cardenas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ellsworth Spicer to make the kick off. Olen Rubio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Tilley having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, one of Vantage AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vantage AFC. When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, Matheson FC's Anatole Snyder got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ivan Tilley. Ellsworth Spicer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdul Nesbitt having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Israel McCann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vantage AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Israel McCann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdul Nesbitt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Israel McCann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ellsworth Spicer struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Abdul Nesbitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vantage AFC. In the 76th minute Israel McCann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdul Nesbitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Vantage AFC's goalkeeper Ivan Tilley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lawerence Scales. Ellsworth Spicer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abdul Nesbitt having to make a save. When Israel McCann, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Abdul Nesbitt was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ellsworth Spicer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Abdul Nesbitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ellsworth Spicer struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Abdul Nesbitt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vantage AFC. Marty Cardenas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Matheson FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
