With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lewis Chatigny in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arturo Barton saved Miocene from getting behind. Arlen Patry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Solomon Hollingsworth in the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Belmont's Lewis Chatigny sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arturo Barton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Lewis Chatigny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belmont's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Chatigny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Barton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Miocene's goalkeeper Arturo Barton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Belmont booed when Miocene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Archie Sapp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clyde Vogt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlen Patry having to interfere. In the 24th minute of the match, Lewis Chatigny tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arturo Barton saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Otto Dodge fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miocene's protests and gave Otto Dodge a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Miocene getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Otto Dodge hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Charles Hess sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arturo Barton skillfully saved the ball. Lyle Grubb hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Miocene's goal looked a bit too open when Lewis Chatigny came free, but Arturo Barton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Miocene getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Travis Guinn hit a great ball. When Delbert Ingram came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Belmont fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delbert Ingram couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Lyle Grubb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arlen Patry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Solomon Hollingsworth in the 42nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Solomon Hollingsworth in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arlen Patry prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lewis Chatigny struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Arturo Barton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Belmont. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute Truman Wheeler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Barton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlen Patry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Solomon Hollingsworth in the 66th minute of play. Arturo Barton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis Chatigny's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Lewis Chatigny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arturo Barton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lewis Chatigny in the 75th minute of the match. Delbert Ingram's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Barton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jeffrey Thompson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belmont's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeffrey Thompson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Barton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When John-Edvin Hotvedt fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
