Hawkesbury AFC's Fabien Gibson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Hawkesbury AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 24thth minute of the game Keneth Murdock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cobourg FC's Antione Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Basil Kenney took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabien Gibson. Fabien Gibson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Basil Kenney put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fabien Gibson. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cyril Leonard to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Basil Kenney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cobourg FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basil Kenney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabien Gibson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Viens in the 56th minute of play. Ivan Viens might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabien Gibson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Viens ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 63 minutes, Keneth Murdock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Keneth Murdock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Antione Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Cobourg FC got a freekick which was hit by Ali Dutton. Cyril Leonard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Keneth Murdock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Keneth Murdock got free with Antione Dias in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Antione Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cyril Leonard in the 89th minute of the match. Ivan Viens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hawkesbury AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
