In the 37thth minute of the game Bernie Lacharité who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but St. Lawrence FC's Jack Kidd was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Dalton Patterson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arvida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalton Patterson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arvida's Bernie Lacharité got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Collin Hatfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wyatt McNamara having to interfere. If Collin Hatfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Major Merchant had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wyatt McNamara. Arvida's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Major Merchant was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Major Merchant made a kick off. Collin Hatfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dalton Patterson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jack Kidd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jack Kidd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalton Patterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in St. Lawrence FC's zone, Bernie Lacharité stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jack Kidd came out of the goal and Bernie Lacharité tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 81 minutes, Rodger Boles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the St. Lawrence FC and the Arvida players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Arvida booed when St. Lawrence FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodger Boles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalton Patterson might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jack Kidd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalton Patterson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 88th match minute, St. Lawrence FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foster Evans to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Rob Parent got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodger Boles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wyatt McNamara having to make a save. Major Merchant might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wyatt McNamara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Major Merchant ran back to his position shaking his head. St. Lawrence FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
